I work in healthcare and taking blood pressures is part of my daily routine. So I was very excited to be able to try this automated blood pressure cuff!

When I received it in the mail, I was surprised at how small it looked. Makes for easy storage! I immediately put the batteries in and tried it out! It was easy to set the time and date and the screen was very bright and easy to read!  I like the brightness of the screen because it's easy for my clients to read once i'm done taking their blood pressure. Including them in their care and keeping them informed is very important to me! It helps to make them feel included and in control of that aspect of their life!

It took just a short time to take the blood pressure which is a great feature. Not everyone stays still while getting their blood pressure taken. So it was important to me that it worked fast and was accurate.

My personal blood pressure is displayed in the picture and is a normal range for me.

I, however, thought that this blood pressure monitor should have come with a case to hold it in. I feel that it's important in keeping the blood pressure monitor from getting broken or damaged. This particular one did not come with a storage case. But this was my only complaint.

I think this blood pressure monitor is ideal for professional and home use. It's bright display makes it easy to read and the memory feature makes it great in keeping track of your health. It seems to give an accurate reading, as my readings have been what my blood pressure normally runs and is consistent.

The price for this product is around the same as you would find for blood pressure cuffs. So the company is pretty competitive with their pricing.

I would recommend this blood pressure cuff to anyone wanting or needing to keep track of their blood pressure. I would also recommend for any healthcare worker!

A New Healthier Me

I have always been a bit heavier then I should be. Always making excuses as to why I can't lose weight. I don't have enough time or I can start tomorrow. I'm tired of making excuses for myself. So I am taking the step to try to lose weight and better myself! I am writing this blog so that I can keep track of my progress and maybe encourage others to do the same!

I had a wake up call about a month ago when I was applying for life insurance. They came out and did a physical and blood work. The normal stuff that everyone has to go through when getting insurance for the first time. When I got the results I was pretty shocked. I thought for sure I was in pretty good shape at 38 years old. I was completely blown away. My levels were way off and they stated that I was on my way to a heart attack or stroke. I'm 38, this doesn't happen to people until they get old....well let me tell you, that is NOT the truth. I was approved for the policy but my rates were jacked up almost to the point I didn't take the policy at all. That, my friends will get anyone motivated.

I also have three children and a grand daughter that I would like to stick around for...well my husband too! :P

So what have I done so far to get my butt in gear? Well I joined the Biggest Loser at work. What more motivation does someone need then to win money right? I also downloaded a few apps to keep track of my eating habits and track the progress I make with workouts. Some great ones are My Fitness Pal, Noom Coach, Noom walk, and Map My Walk! You can find these apps for your iphone or android on google play.

So i'm sure a lot of you are wondering, well just how fat is she? lol My start weight is 176. I have been slowly working in a routine of walking. So far this week i've walked 7.5 miles more then what I would normally walk in a week. Now I know that doesn't sound like a lot but for me it felt like a mountain. But I did it and I pushed myself to go further every time I walked!

So now comes the brave part of my blog. I am scared as all get out to do this but it has to be done.... I am going to post my before pictures....Now I am only in my bra and pants so if you do not want to see these, then you can kindly leave now. Honestly, this is more for me then it is for you but encouragement is ALWAYS welcome!! I will need plenty of that!!! So...here we go!

I'm sure that there will be some rude or nasty comments but that's ok! I'm overweight and it's my fault. But I am in the process of doing something about it! That is the first step. I will update and add more pictures as my process continues and I hope by the years end I have lost at least 25 pounds!

I have already takes some steps in eating healthier and pushing myself to do more! I hope that this will encourage others to do the same!

Neutrogena® Rapid Dark Circle Repair Eye Cream Review

I was chosen through Crowdtap to try the new Neutrogena Rapid Dark Circle Repair Eye Cream free for my honest and unbiased opinion of the product.

20141230_150602

I was really excited to try this new product because I have a lot of issues with my under eyes. Not only do I have bags but I also tend to get dark circles, even when I sleep well.

20141230_150712 20141230_150737

I really liked how it had an applicator brush on the end of it so I didn't have to use my fingers to apply. The pressure of your fingers actually makes the dark circles worse and can cause puffiness. So this feature was extremely important to me! And it's easy to clean!

I have a lot of issues with the skin on my face. My face is very oily and blotchy. I was worried that this would irritate my skin. So when I first tried it I only put a very little amount under my eyes and waited. It was actually very soothing!

I have been using this product for a little over a week now and I have seen a subtle change in the dark circles under my eyes but not a whole lot. I think over time it will have a better effect so I will continue to use it and see what happens.

The directions for use state: Twist bottom of package until product appears on the brush (may take up to 10 twists the first time). Apply to eye area. Works well alone or under makeup.

Directions to clean: Wipe brush with dry cloth or tissue. Do not get wet, or allow water to pass through brush.

If you would like to find out more about puffy eyes and why you get dark circles you can visit the Neutrogena page!

In using this product in such a short period of time it's hard for me to say if I completely like it. It has diminished some of the darkness from my under eyes so it does appear to work. I will just have to continue using it to see the full effects! I guess it will depend on the price of the product, if I will continue to purchase.

Would I recommend this product? Sure! It has slowly been working. I just can't seem to find out how much it will be to purchase this product.
