Review for The book "Invincible" By BRIAN F. MARTIN

I had the privilege to read the first chapter of Invincible by Brian F. Martin Free through Smiley360. All opinions of this review are of my own.

The book is about families faced with Domestic Violence. It focuses mainly on the children who grew up in a situation where their parent was abused.

I myself did not grow up where my parents were abusive to each other, but later in life, became a victim of an abusive relationship. So reading the first chapter of this book gave me a whole other realization and chills. My children faced a lot of challenges and heartache that i did not realize. I knew they had been affected to a point but i did not know of how much an impact this had on children. They had to witness horrible aspects of my relationship that i never would have wanted them to see. The physical and mental abuse i endured scarred them for life. I stayed because i was married and thought i could change his behavior just by being "perfect". All i did was make things worse. The better i thought i became, the worse he got. Thankfully i had someone help me! I had a family i had never met offer their home and their kindness. Was i scared? I had never been so scared in my life! But i took the jump that possibly saved my life and the lives of my children!

I was so moved by the first chapter of the book that i took advantage of the pre order. I recently received a DVD of the family this book is mainly based on. I sat down with my current husband and my son and we tearfully watched their story and the pain they all endured. I am patiently awaiting for the book to be released and sent to me because i can't wait to read the entire book.

Domestic violence is a bigger problem then most realize. The statistics, based on research done by the author, are truly scary. " More than 1 in 7 adults in the United States, or 40 Million people, lived with domestic violence as children."   Crazy right?

I would highly recommend anyone who has lived with, dealt with, or knows someone who has or may still be in a situation, to order and read this book.

No one should have to go through such horror in their lives, especially children. If you know someone in the situation, don't just stand back on the sidelines, do something to help them. don't be one of those "I don't want to get involved" people. Because if no one makes that call, that might just be the last time you hear that persons voice. NO ONE deserves to be beaten and the children of domestic violence surely do not deserve to watch as a parent or loved one is beaten before them.

I truly recommend everyone purchase this book! It will open your eyes about how children are also affected by this growing epidemic.
