I have an older home (almost 100 years old) and the doors have a mind of their own depending on the season. I also have tile in the bathroom and hardwood floors throughout my home. Most wedges do not like to grip the hardwood flooring and tend to slide.
These wedges however, stayed in place no matter what door I placed them under. They also stay in place for as long as I have them wedged under the doorway! You can see one of the wedges under my bathroom door with the tile. Please forgive the tile it is green with pink colored grout. It's old hahah
After I placed it under the door I waited a few minutes to see if it would budge....it did not. I came back a few hours later and it was still in place. Nothing like the ones I had used in the past!
Now onto the bedroom door! As you can see I have hardwood and the wedges of the past have always slid and never held. This wedge stayed in place just as the one in the bathroom did on the tile flooring.
As the description states, they had no smell to them which is surprising for plastic. The wedges are firm yet pliable and I feel will last for a long time without cracking. They are easy to use by just placing them on the floor and pushing either with you hand or foot, under the doorway. I have a pretty good size gap between the door and the floor, the wedges fit perfectly and snug underneath.
They work perfectly no matter what type of flooring you have. I was not able to try this with carpet as I do not have any in my home but I feel if they can work well on my hardwood floors then there should be no issue using them with carpet!
If you are looking for something that is durable and you don't have to drill into the door than this is perfect. I have continued to use mine and would recommend them to anyone who has issues keeping their doors open.
